ADR Life Solutions continues to be recognized as a youth peer recovery resource combating addiction.

In case you missed it: ADR Life Solutions has been busy in recent months being involved in helping to set new standards for peer recovery, and also engage in the greater dialogue of addiction recovery in South Florida. Here are some of the recents events ADR Life Solutions has participated in:

For the second year in a row, ADR Life Solutions was invited to take part in the annual Florida Alcohol and Drug Abuse Association’s (FADAA) Annual Conference, held August 10th-12th in Orlando. In conjunction with the Florida Council for Community Mental Health (FCCMH), the annual Florida Behavioral Health Conference brings together leaders in the addiction treatment field from all over the state to discuss the issues that are most pressing to the addiction recovery community. This year’s conference was titled: Florida’s Premier Behavioral Health Annual Conference, with the theme of this year’s conference being “Providing Value In Challenging Times.” Alec Rosen of ADR Life Solutions was asked to speak on two separate occasions during the conference. The first speaking engagement was as part of a panel dedicated to communication, young people, and peer recovery entitled: “Great Conversations Give Great Results: Chat with Young People About Effective Substance Abuse Treatment.” Alec again appeared Thursday to take part in the public unveiling of a new video presentation sponsored by the Department of Children & Families (DCF) and the Palm Beach County Substance Awareness Coalition (PBCSAC).

FCB Subject Matter Expert – October 11th, 2016

ADR Life Solutions’ founder Alec Rosen was tapped by the Florida Certification Board / New York Certification Association to travel to the state capital of Tallahassee and take part in the creation of a new certification endorsement. Alec was brought in as a SME (Subject Matter Expert) due to his experience as a recovery coach with a focus on young people in recovery. As a SME for the Florida Certification Board, Alec was asked to contribute his insight as part of developing a new Youth Peer Specialist Endorsement, an additional designation within the Certified Recovery Peer Specialist (CRPS). The Youth Peer Specialist Endorsement adds an another level of certification and training specific to peer recovery as it relates to young people struggling with drugs or alcohol addiction. With the state of Florida and the country at large in the grip of an opioid epidemic, with the majority of those dying from drug overdoses being young people,  having specialized certifications and endorsements is more important than ever to help provide recovery solutions for those suffering.

West Palm Beach ROSC Summit – November 17th, 2016

Alec Rosen of ADR Life Solutions discussing peer recovery of care systems at the Hanley

Alec Rosen with FAU CRC president Daly Reardon at The Hanley Center

Alec was back talking recovery solutions in the month of November, after being asked to be on a panel at the esteemed Hanley Center in West Palm Beach, as part of a presentation and discussion of Recovery Oriented Systems of Care (ROSC). The event was sponsored by the Department of Children & Families (DCF) and Magellan Complete Care. Joined by others in recovery and those working on both the clinical and executive side of the addiction treatment field, Alec shared with the audience in attendance part of his personal journey in recovery. The ROSC approach to treating drug addiction and alcoholism is to establish and integrate systems of care through meaningful partnerships and shared decision-making between individuals and communities. Recovery Oriented Systems of Care is a paradigm shift from the older medical model of treatment, instead emphasizing a value-driven approach, as well as networks of Clinical and Non-Clinical services and supports.

As always, we at ADR Life Solutions are honored to be able to add to the greater conversation  about how we as a community can tackle addiction. At ADR, we believe this includes integrating recovery coaching and peer support with other models in order to get the best result.
